Before each semester, VCU sends out bills to students detailing how much it's going to cost to attend the university that semester. The bills include a $45 activity fee that is disbursed to various student organizations. The Student Government Association is the body in charge of the appropriation of funds raised through the activity fee.

House OKs bill to ban hallucinogen salvia

A bill to ban salvia divinorum unanimously passed in the Virginia House of Delegates this week, bringing the currently legal drug one step closer to strict regulation. Salvia is a powerful hallucinogen - some say as strong as LSD. It's the subject of thousands of YouTube.

Gov. Kaine: brain power equals economic power

Virginia recently was ranked among the top five states to get an education, but Gov. Timothy M. Kaine says that's not good enough. In a telephone conference call with reporters Wednesday afternoon, Kaine addressed central issues put before the General Assembly this session.
