Recent reports list larceny, property crime as top crimes in 2006

VCU Police, FBI annual reports reveal different data on campus crime

Two crime reports released earlier this month reveal differing sets of data about VCU crime. According to VCU Police's 2007 Annual Security Report, larcenies were the most reported crime in 2006 at the Monroe Park and MCV campuses. The FBI's recently released Uniform Crime Report, which compares crimes at Virginia universities, found that property crimes, however, were the most common crime in 2006, followed closely behind larceny.

Health professional encourages students to get free flu shots

Better a sore arm than the flu? VCU students seem to think so. More than 100 VCU students have already visited University Student Health Services to get their free flu shot in preparation for the upcoming winter flu season. University Student Health Services is offering free flu shots to full-time students and flushots for $10 for part-time students, since they are not charged the student health fee with tuition.

Brunch focuses on prevention and perseverance in face of breast cancer

Alpha Kappa Delta Phi hosted a brunch Wednesday to raise awareness, money and support for breast cancer and its survivors. The two-hour event featured guest speakers Nancy Harris from VCU's Office of Health Promotion and VCU student and 13-year cancer survivor Dora Callahan.
