MC Chris, The Gaskets rock Raygun

Disc jockey and rapper Chris Ward , aka MC Chris, headlined a concert at Nanci Raygun last Tuesday night. Other acts that night included DJ Krames, Luggage, and The Gaskets. DJ Krames spins every Thursday night at Nanci Raygun. His influences include Mix Master Mike, DJ Q-bert, and 2-Trip.

The Roots brings underground sound to Siegel

It all began in 1987. Tariq Trotter and Ahmir Khalib Thompson became friends at the Philadelphia High School for Creative Performing Arts and began performing their own brand of music around school, on sidewalks and at talent shows. Trotter, known to his fans as Black Thought, rapped and Thompson, aka ?uestlove, played drums using his drum kit.

'Legendary' Legend to perform at VCU

His debut album "Get Lifted" was called "an engaging journey into the fresh realm of thoughtful soul such artists as Alicia Keys have advanced in recent years" by the Tucson Citizen. Neo-soul singer and Ohio-native John Legend, born John Stephens, began playing piano at the age of 5 and by 9 years old he was playing for his church choir.
